The City of Fort Collins will host an information session for anyone considering running for a City elected office on Tuesday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 300 Laporte Ave.
In November, all Fort Collins voters will elect a mayor, and voters in Districts 2, 4 and 6 will elect City Council representatives.
The information session will cover what a day in the life of a Councilmember looks like, time commitments beyond Tuesday night Council meetings, and the new compensation structure that went into effect in January 2023. Basic information will also be provided about candidate deadlines and campaign rules.
The hour-long session will also include time for Q&A and a recording will be posted on the City’s YouTube channel after the event.
