The City of Fort Collins will begin construction on a number of infrastructure improvements on Prospect Road this spring and summer, and vehicle traffic will be affected while work takes place.
Work will begin Monday, May 15, at one location, with work at two other locations beginning later.
Drivers can expect major impacts to through travel on Prospect from Shields Street to Timberline Road and should plan alternate routes.
These impacts include:
- A full closure of westbound Prospect Road from Lemay Avenue to Robertson Street. Eastbound traffic in the area will be reduced to one lane. This pattern will begin May 15 and continue for 6-8 weeks due to a Utilities project in the area.
- Lane closures at the Center Avenue underpass beginning May 22 and continuing through early August. This work is related to maintenance of the underpass.
- Overnight lane closures beginning in early June for milling and paving of Prospect between Timberline Road and Sharp Point Drive. These closures will be in effect for about two weeks, weather permitting.
