Three Tigers Earn All-West Region Honors

Three members of the Colorado College women's track and field team were selected to the 2022 Division III All-West Region team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Rising senior Kendall Accetta earned a spot on the team for the 5K and 3,000 steeplechase races, classmate Na'ama Nevo for the 3,000 steeplechase and rising sophomore Elliot Singer for the 10K.

To be named all-region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top five of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS (Track and Field Results Reporting System) data or be part of a top-three relay team.

Accetta became the first Colorado College track athlete to earn All-America honors since 2017 after a seventh-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Accetta smashed her own school record by 16 seconds, posting a time of 10:40.21, placing her at the top of the regional list.

In addition to her second consecutive all-region selection in the steeplechase, Accetta also had the fifth-fastest time in the 5K, posting a 17:25.12 mark at the KT Woodmen Classic in Wichita, Kansas.

Nevo, meanwhile, recorded the region's fifth-fastest time in the steeplechase when she clocked in at 11:21.21 at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite in Joliet, Ill.

Singer, the SCAC champion in the 5K and 10K at the SCAC Championships, had the region's second-best time in the 10K at 36:57.53. She recorded that at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite.

"This is another fantastic honor for these individuals," head coach Katie Bretscher said. "It is one of the highlights of the record-breaking season for the women's program."
