Courtesy of Air Force Athletics AUSTIN, Texas- Trailing 4-0 after two innings, Air Force roared back to defeat the Bulldogs 9-7, placing the Falcons in the Regional Final against top-seed Texas. Jake Greiving launched a pair of home runs, both giving the Falcons a lead. He was 3-5 with 3 RBI. Trayden Tamiya was a catalyst for Air Force's offensive outburst, managing a game-high four hits with two doubles and a RBI. Sam Kulasingam and Gabriel Garcia each had three hits as well. Kulasingam's two-run single in the 6th gave the Falcons its first lead of the game at 6-5. Garcia's solo home run in the 3rd was part of a two-run 3rd for Air Force. Ryan Stohr started the game after Dylan Rogers was announced as a late scratch prior to first-pitch. Stohr allowed four runs in his two innings of work. Duke Benge entered in the 3rd and gave the Falcons 4.2 solid innings, allowing just three runs in relief. CJ Dornak made his fourth appearance of the postseason, earning the win after tossing 2.1 scoreless innings.
Air Force will play Texas in the Regional Final, needing to defeat the Longhorns twice to advance to a Super Regional next weekend. First-pitch between the Falcons and Longhorns is scheduled for 6:00 pm MT. In the event of a Falcons victory later tonight, Air Force and Texas will play Monday, June 6, with first-pitch slated for 1:00 pm MT.
