Week ending Aug. 22: 5 patents granted in Fort Collins

Patent 14

There were five patents granted in Fort Collins in the week ending Aug. 22, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is four more than the week before. Patents included a pressure regulating mass flow system for multipoint gaseous fuel injection.

The earliest patent filed which was granted in the week ending Aug. 22 belonged to Michael Ryan Buehner who filed in March 19, 2018.

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
