CITY OF FORT COLLINS: Transfort to resume Route 19, Route 92 only operates when PSD has in-person classes

Announcement

City of Fort Collins issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.

Transfort, the transit agency owned by the City of Fort Collins, will resume service on bus Route 19 on Monday, Nov. 23.

Route 19 will operate once per hour Monday through Friday. Route 19 services the CSU Transit Center and South Transit Center via Shields Street and Harmony Road. The first trip Northbound will depart the South Transit Center at 6:45 a.m. The last trip Southbound will depart the CSU Transit Center at 7:15 p.m.

Route 19 was previously suspended in April as part of other service suspensions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Additionally, due to Poudre School District returning to 100 percent remote learning beginning Monday, Nov. 23, Route 92 will be suspended. Route 92 will only operate when Poudre School District has in-person classes.

Transfort recognizes that some community members rely on buses as their primary mode of transportation and the agency is working toward resuming service throughout the entire transit system. Determining the order in which routes are reinstated is informed by historical ridership data, public outreach and input, operational sustainability, public safety guidelines and other factors. Routes that remain suspended are 11, 12, and GOLD.

All residents can schedule a taxi trip to or from a bus stop along a route that is suspended, or to or from another linked bus stop or transit center. There are no fares associated with these taxi trips at this time. This service is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Taxi trips must be scheduled the same day the trip will be taken by calling 970-225-4831. Call center hours are Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The taxi service is not available on the FLEX route.

All Transfort services continue to be fare-free under an emergency order signed in March. Face coverings are required on all Transfort buses.
