The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 15 that two men were arrested during an operation targeting child predators. The operation, conducted on May 14, involved investigators posing as minors offering sexual acts for sale on local websites and forums.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, several dozen people responded to the online listings. Two men arrived at a predetermined location intending to purchase sex from minors and were arrested by deputies at the scene. Both suspects were booked into the Larimer County Jail and face multiple charges.
Hunter Rivera of Windsor was issued a $6,500 cash-only bond by the Larimer County Court. Rivera faces charges including Soliciting a Child Prostitute (F3), Internet Luring of a Child (F4), Cybercrime – Soliciting to Arrange a Minor Prostitute (F5), and Attempted Sexual Assault on a Child (F5). Ismaaeel Abdur-Rahmaan of Fort Collins was issued a $7,500 cash-only bond by the court and faces similar charges: Soliciting a Child Prostitute (F3), Internet Luring of a Child (F4), Cybercrime – Soliciting to Arrange a Minor Prostitute (F5), and Attempted Sexual Assault on a Child (F5).
Sheriff John Feyen said, “Children are not property to be bought or sold. Human trafficking is modern day slavery, and we won’t tolerate it in Larimer County. I hope this operation sends a strong message. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you try to hurt kids in our community, you will be held accountable.”
The Sheriff’s Office noted that booking photos have been attached with their announcement. Officials also emphasized that these charges are merely accusations at this stage; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
