As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local governmental affairs, we at Larimer News have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Colorado State University – Fort Collins. This request seeks detailed information concerning Chinese National students currently enrolled at the university.

The request specifically asks for documents or lists that provide insight into the number of Chinese National students, their departments of study, and any scholarships they receive. We have requested a breakdown of these students by department and details about each scholarship’s amount and source. Additionally, we are seeking information about scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council.

Furthermore, we have asked for any policies or procedures the university has in place to monitor students, including Chinese Nationals, to safeguard the institution’s intellectual property and other confidential information.

This request is made on behalf of Larimer News and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy. As members of the media, we emphasize the importance of access to public records in holding institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for the public. In line with this mission, we have requested a fee waiver given our role in disseminating crucial information.

We look forward to receiving a response from Colorado State University – Fort Collins and will continue to keep our readers informed as this story develops.
