Colorado State University’s women’s volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory over San Diego State in San Diego, starting their final road trip of the 2025 regular season on a positive note.
The Rams overcame an early five-point deficit in the first set, using a serving run and strong offensive efforts from Eve Wilson and Kekua Richards. Both players recorded five kills each in the opening frame, helping Colorado State take the first set 25-20.
In the second set, Colorado State maintained control throughout, allowing only two lead changes. The Rams’ side-out efficiency enabled them to withstand a late push from San Diego State and win the set 25-23, giving them a 2-0 advantage.
San Diego State responded in the third set. Despite seven team blocks by Colorado State that nearly resulted in a sweep, the Aztecs managed to edge out the Rams with a 26-24 win after forcing deuce points.
Colorado State closed out the match with a 25-18 win in the fourth set. Wilson led with four kills in that frame and finished with a team-high 15 kills while hitting .452 for the night. Richards and Maria Brun also contributed double-digit kill totals as Colorado State posted an overall hitting percentage of .294. Richards was one block short of recording a double-double.
Setter Erin Debiec provided 39 assists during the match. On defense, Halle Jameson and Aine Doty both reached double digits in digs.
Colorado State will continue its road trip with a match against UNLV Rebels in Las Vegas on Saturday at 1 p.m. Mountain Time.
