Colorado State University’s women’s volleyball team is preparing for its first away games in November after securing two victories last week. The Rams swept Fresno State 3-0 and then won a close five-set match against San Jose State. Their record now stands at 16-6.
The team will travel to face Utah State on Thursday, November 6 at the Wayne Estes Center in Logan, Utah. This matchup gives Colorado State an opportunity to avenge a previous 3-0 home loss to the Aggies last month. On Saturday, November 8, they will play Boise State at Bronco Gym in Boise, Idaho. Both matches will be available for streaming via Mountain West Network and live stats can be accessed through StatBroadcast.
Head coach Emily Kohan commented on the recent performance: “CSU went 2-0 last week, sweeping Fresno State and taking San Jose to a five set match and coming out on top.”
The Rams’ front line was instrumental in their win over San José State by producing key blocks during the five-set contest. With only a few weeks remaining in conference play, Colorado State aims to secure road wins that could improve their standing within the Mountain West Conference.
Utah State currently leads the conference in hitting percentage, hits, and kills. Mara Štiglic was recognized as Mountain West offensive Student-Athlete of the Week as the Aggies extended their winning streak to 13 consecutive matches.
Boise State has also shown strong individual performances recently. Ari Bilby recorded a match-high of 14 kills while middle blocker Eliza Sharp contributed with 11 blocks and nine kills across last week’s contests. In their game against San Diego State, Boise held SDSU to a .143 hitting percentage while achieving .237 themselves as a team.
For Colorado State, Eve Wilson hit .480 during Saturday’s match against Boise State and added 14 kills. Halle Jameson earned her seventh double-double of the season with 14 kills and 16 digs. As a team, the Rams lead their opponents in total kills this season with 1,113 compared to their opponents’ total of 983.
With these upcoming games, Colorado State looks to strengthen its position ahead of postseason play.
