Colorado State University’s women’s volleyball team is preparing for the final week of the regular season with two home matches scheduled at Moby Arena. The Rams, currently holding an 18-8 record, will play against Grand Canyon University on Thursday and New Mexico on Saturday. The match against New Mexico will also mark the team’s annual Green Out game and Senior Day.

The Rams recently returned from a successful road trip, where they secured victories over San Diego State and UNLV. These wins have helped them maintain their second-place position in the Mountain West Conference standings as they head into the last two matches before the conference tournament.

Head coach Emily Kohan’s squad aims to build on its momentum as it faces Grand Canyon University (17-10). Earlier this season, Colorado State defeated GCU in four sets during an away match. Grand Canyon is noted for its strong blocking performance this year, ranking second in the Mountain West with 287 total blocks while limiting opponents to 201 blocks. Taylor Kubacak has been a key contributor for GCU, recording 515 assists and 36 service aces as a sophomore.

On Saturday, Colorado State will host New Mexico (13-14), which follows a previous meeting where CSU swept the Lobos 3-0 on the road. In that match, Colorado State held New Mexico to a hitting percentage below .200. Middle back Zoe Leonard achieved her first career double-double with 11 kills and a career-high 12 blocks during that contest. Meanwhile, New Mexico enters this week’s matchup after posting back-to-back wins last week and combining for over 100 digs, more than 100 points, and about 30 total blocks across both matches.

Eve Wilson has played a significant role offensively for Colorado State recently, tallying 15 kills in each of last week’s matches while maintaining an attacking efficiency above .450. The Rams lead the conference by holding opponents under a .200 hitting percentage throughout the season and are ranked second in overall hitting percentage at .262.

Setter Erin Debiec reached her 1,000th career assist milestone last week and continues to rank second among Mountain West players in assists. She was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week earlier this week.

“Our focus is on finishing strong heading into postseason play,” said head coach Emily Kohan. “We want to honor our seniors on Saturday with another great performance.”

The match against Grand Canyon will take place Thursday at 6:00 PM, followed by Saturday’s contest versus New Mexico at 1:00 PM. Both games will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.
