Colorado State volleyball players receive Mountain West weekly awards

Colorado State University’s women’s volleyball team received two weekly honors from the Mountain West Conference after winning matches against Air Force and Wyoming. Setter Erin Debiec was named Old Trapper Mountain West Freshman of the Week, while junior middle blocker Eve Wilson earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Debiec led the team with 79 assists, averaging 11.29 per set. Under her direction, Colorado State posted a .281 hitting percentage compared to a .100 mark by their opponents. She also contributed seven kills at a .538 hitting percentage on second-ball contacts and averaged 1.71 blocks per set with 12 block assists. Defensively, she added 17 digs.

Wilson was recognized for her defensive play and overall performance during the week, marking her first career weekly award from the conference. She tallied 25 kills—an average of 3.57 per set—and led in points scored for Colorado State with 37 total points over two matches, or an average of 5.29 per set. Wilson also averaged three blocks per set (21 total), including three solo blocks and 18 block assists, while maintaining a .271 hitting percentage across 59 attempts.

Her week included recording her first career double-double against Air Force with 15 kills and 12 blocks. Against Wyoming, she narrowly missed another double-double by finishing with ten kills and nine blocks in a three-set match.

The Rams will continue their conference schedule at home against Fresno State on Thursday at 6:00 p.m., followed by Nevada on Saturday at Moby Arena as part of their annual Ag Day event.
