The Colorado State volleyball program announced on May 26 the addition of Bruno Chateau as assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season. Head coach Emily Kohan said Chateau joins the team after most recently serving as an assistant coach for LOVB Salt Lake City and brings over 15 years of coaching experience.
“Bruno is highly respected at the highest levels of volleyball. His experience in various professional leagues will add a unique perspective to the college game to help us keep modernizing our approach to winning championships,” Kohan said. “He has worked with some of the best volleyball players in the world and is beloved by both players and staff, he’s got amazing energy. I look forward to learning from him and watching our players grow under his guidance.”
Chateau’s coaching background includes positions at University of New Orleans, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, University of Denver, and Colorado College. He also has 12 years of professional playing experience in France’s men’s league, where he won championships in both 2006 and 2007.
Reflecting on his new role, Chateau said, “I participated a few years ago in the CSU summer camp as a coach, and now I will be part of the coaching staff, crazy story but real! I am super thankful for the opportunity, and I can’t wait to share my experiences with the team and learn from the Colorado State volleyball program.”
At LOVB Salt Lake City, Chateau led blocking strategy during its founding seasons starting in 2024. He will join Colorado State as it prepares for its inaugural year competing in the PAC-12 conference. The Rams are set to begin their regular season at home against UC Davis on August 28 at Moby Arena.
